2. What data we collect

Wordkeeper does not collect any personal data that can identify you.

Your game progress and settings are stored only on your device, using iOS local storage (UserDefaults), and are never transmitted anywhere. They include:

This data stays on your iPhone or iPad. When you uninstall the app, iOS removes it automatically.

Anonymous usage statistics

To understand how the app is used and to improve it, Wordkeeper collects some anonymous, aggregated usage statistics through the TelemetryDeck service (see Section 4). These are game events only, for example:

This data contains no personal information and cannot identify you or track you across apps or devices. TelemetryDeck does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), sets no cookies, and does not store your IP address. The statistics are used only to produce aggregate numbers (e.g. “how many people complete chapter 1”).

These statistics are fully anonymous and aggregated: they are not linked to your identity or to any persistent identifier, so it is not technically possible to single out or delete “your” data. For any question about the collection of these statistics you can contact us at the email listed in Section 1.

Data collected through advertising

Wordkeeper shows optional rewarded video ads: they start only when you tap the button yourself to earn coins in return, they never appear on their own, and you can ignore them with no effect on the game.

The app may also show other ad formats — banners and full-screen (interstitial) ads — which may appear during use, for example at transitions between screens. When present, they are provided by the same service and handle data exactly as described in this section.

All ads are provided by Google AdMob (see Section 4). To serve them, the advertising service may collect:

Your permission is required and can be withdrawn. On first launch with advertising enabled, iOS shows the “Allow Wordkeeper to track your activity?” request (App Tracking Transparency).

You can change your mind at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

If you are in the European Union, before that request you are also shown a consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) where you choose which purposes to allow. You can review that choice from the privacy options inside the app.

Data collected through advertising is not linked to your identity: Wordkeeper has no accounts, no login and no personal details. When you do consent to the use of the IDFA, however, that identifier can be used by the advertising network in other apps too in order to show you relevant ads: this is what Apple calls “tracking”, and it is why you are asked for permission.

In-app purchases

The App may offer optional purchases (coin packs). When available, payment is handled entirely by Apple: we do not process, see or store your card, account or Apple ID details.

Apple’s processing of payment data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

3. System permissions

Wordkeeper does not request any sensitive permissions. In particular, the app does NOT request and does NOT access:

The only permission requested is the one for advertising tracking (IDFA), described in Section 2: it is optional, the app works identically if you decline, and it grants no access to any of the items listed above.

Collecting anonymous statistics (Section 2) requires no system permission.

The app uses haptic feedback (light vibrations) and system sounds, which require no specific user permission.

4. Third-party services

Wordkeeper uses two third-party services:

Apart from these, Wordkeeper uses none of the following:

Any future update introducing further third-party services will be preceded by an update to this Privacy Policy and communicated through the new version of the app.

5. ICloud sync

Wordkeeper uses iCloud to sync your game progress (coins, experience points, levels and stars reached, unlocked items, preferences) across the devices signed in to your Apple ID. This way, when you change or reinstall your device, you get your progress back.

This data is stored in your own personal iCloud space, managed by Apple: we have no access to it and do not receive it on our systems (we have none). Syncing happens through iCloud’s key-value store and covers only the game data described above, never personally identifying data.

You can turn syncing off in iOS settings (Settings → \[your name\] → iCloud), managing iCloud Drive or Wordkeeper’s iCloud access. Apple’s processing of this data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

6. Minors

Wordkeeper is rated 13+ and is not directed to children under 13: the rating reflects the presence of third-party advertising, not the game’s content, which remains suitable for a general audience. It is not published in the App Store “Kids” category. The app does not:

The app shows advertising (optional videos and possibly other formats, Section 2). The advertising content filter is set to a rating consistent with the 13+ classification. Where tracking consent is not given — and by default it is not — the ads shown are non-personalised.

The app may also offer in-app purchases (Section 2). In no case is any part of the game locked behind a purchase: it would only be coins, which can be earned by playing anyway. Parents can disable purchases entirely in iOS settings, under Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions → In-app Purchases.

The anonymous usage statistics (Section 2) are aggregated and do not identify any user; no persistent identifiers are used.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

As a resident of the European Union you have the rights granted by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR):

Wordkeeper does not collect or store personal data on its own systems: we hold no information about you to provide, amend or delete. For data processed by the advertising network you can withdraw your consent as described in Section 2 (the iOS ATT request and the EU consent form) and exercise your rights directly with Google, through the policy listed in Section 4. For any question or report you can still write to us at the email listed in Section 1, or contact the supervisory authority directly.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes to the app or to applicable law. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates when it was last modified. Material changes (e.g. the introduction of new third-party services or in-app purchases) will be communicated through an update to the app.
